Overpaintings
I think of my overpainting series as a metaphor for the interdependent and interconnected nature of all people and events caused either by humans or the environment. The entire history of the universe and all human activity has culminated in the moment we all experience in the now and this reality binds us all together in a network of cause and effect. The reworking on top of previously created imagery speaks to how generations come and go but leave their marks on past achievements or creations to create something new which will then be reworked by those after and affecting the course of history.
