Overpaintings
I think of my overpainting series as a metaphor for the interdependent and interconnected nature of all people and events caused either by humans or the environment. The entire history of the universe and human activity has culminated in the moment we all experience now and this reality binds us together in a network of cause and effect. The reworking on top of previously created imagery speaks to how generations come and go but leave their mark on past achievements or creations making something new which will then be reworked by newer generations; affecting the course of history.
